Samsung SmartThings Hub

As the world evolves, so does technology. Technology has become an integral part of our lives, and that has translated to having a lot of smart devices in our homes. A popular smart device is the home hub. There are several home hubs, but one option is the Samsung SmartThings Hub. Here are the positives and negatives of this smart hub.

  • SmartThings App
  • Can receive alerts
  • Automate Devices
  • Can Use Voice Commands

  • No Google Nest integration
  • US only

SmartThings App

The Hub can connect many things in your home, and the SmartThings App makes it easy to control all of it in one place. You can set up alerts in the app to signal you if there is any unexpected activity in your home. You can also control anything that you automate in your home from within the app.

Automate Devices

You can set your smart devices so they are not running all the time. If you want, you can set it so that the device turns on when certain conditions are met, such as a door opening.

Voice Commands

We’ve all been in the situation where we just laid down in bed and realized we forgot to turn the lights off. With the Samsung SmartThings Hub, you can connect your lights to the hub and turn them off from bed. You can use voice commands through the hub to control many other things in your home as well.

No Google Nest Integration

While the Samsung SmartThings Hub does connect with a variety of smart thermostats, it does not integrate with the ever-popular Google Nest Thermostat. It does integrate with a variety of Honeywell and Ecobee thermostats, among others.

The Samsung SmartThings Hub is only available in the United States, so if you live elsewhere, you will not be able to obtain it.
